Welcome to ClearSpeak. By downloading, installing, or using the ClearSpeak application ("App"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Description of Service
ClearSpeak is an AI-powered communication coaching tool that analyzes text for tone, cultural appropriateness, and clarity, and provides rewrite suggestions. The App is designed for non-native English speakers to improve their professional communication.
Important Disclaimer: ClearSpeak is a communication tool, NOT a professional translation, legal, or linguistic service. The suggestions provided are AI-generated and may not always be perfect or appropriate for every situation. Always use your own judgment when sending important communications.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use ClearSpeak. If you are under 18, you should have your parent or guardian's permission.
3. Account and Subscription
- Free Tier: ClearSpeak offers a free tier with limited daily analyses (5 per day) and basic features.
- Pro Subscription: Pro features are available through auto-renewable subscriptions managed by Apple.
- Pricing: Pro Monthly ($9.99/month) and Pro Annual ($79.99/year). Prices may vary by region.
- Free Trial: New subscribers may receive a 7-day free trial. You will be charged after the trial ends unless you cancel.
- Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone's Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests should be directed to Apple Support.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use ClearSpeak to:
- Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use the App for any automated or bulk processing beyond normal personal use
5. Intellectual Property
- ClearSpeak, its logo, design, and code are owned by ClearSpeak and protected by intellectual property laws.
- You retain ownership of all text you input into the App.
- We do not claim any rights to your text (we never even see it — all processing is on-device).
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
ClearSpeak is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
- AI-generated suggestions will be accurate, appropriate, or suitable for any specific purpose
- The tone analysis results will perfectly reflect how a recipient will perceive your message
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClearSpeak shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Miscommunication resulting from following App suggestions
- Professional or personal consequences of sent messages
- Loss of data stored on your device
8. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for information about how we handle your data (short version: we don't collect any).
9. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
