            The Short Version: ClearSpeak processes all text entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any text you analyze. Your communication stays yours.
        

1. Our Core Privacy Principle

ClearSpeak is designed with privacy as a foundational feature, not an afterthought. All text analysis — tone detection, culture checking, and rewrite generation — runs on-device using Apple's built-in AI technology. Your text never leaves your iPhone.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Your text: We never see, collect, store, or transmit any text you paste or type into ClearSpeak.
Analysis results: Tone scores, culture flags, and rewrites are generated and stored locally on your device only.
Personal communications: We have no access to your emails, messages, or any content you analyze.

3. Information We Collect

We collect minimal, anonymous data to improve the app:

Anonymous usage analytics: We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to collect anonymous usage statistics (e.g., which features are used most, app crashes). This data cannot identify you personally.
Subscription status: Managed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We receive a subscription status indicator but no payment information.

4. On-Device Processing

ClearSpeak uses Apple's Foundation Models framework for AI analysis. This means:

All AI processing happens on your device's Neural Engine
No text is sent to any server (ours, Apple's, or any third party)
The app works fully offline
Analysis history is stored only in your device's local storage

5. Data Storage

Your analysis history is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data:

Lives only on your device
Is protected by your device's encryption and passcode
Can be deleted at any time by deleting the app
Is optionally synced to your personal iCloud account if you enable iCloud sync (data remains encrypted and under your Apple ID)

6. Third-Party Services

Apple StoreKit: Handles subscription purchases. Apple's privacy policy applies to payment processing.
TelemetryDeck: Privacy-first analytics. No personal data collected. See TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.

7. Children's Privacy

ClearSpeak does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and does not contain any content inappropriate for children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" above.
